Dr. Patrick Basset is an anesthesiologist in France and a graduate from The Louvain Catholic University. He is a mountain rescue doctor and medical director of a company that specializes in outdoor sports medical assistance, providing medical care in difficult locations and environments. He is responsible for some of the largest sporting events in France, such as the International Paris Marathon, legs of the Tour de France and the UTMB. His interests overlap with the WHO “mass crowds” medical management. He is director of numerous medical dissertations in the ultra-endurance sporting universe. As an amateur sportsman himself, he enjoys sporting events outside the stadiums..
